Just like NIS 2009, this year's NIS is light on the resources (I'm running this on a 2 year old XPS laptop). So I really don't know what all the bad reviews are all about. Bought this for $35 at amazon then the price went up to $45. Installed and activated in less than 5 min. Works great. This is one of the top products in its class.

Lightweight, fast, effective. Truly excellent PC protection. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is on one of my PCs I'm getting too many cookie deletion reports which is a little annoying. There is probably a setting to turn this off. I haven't researched this yet.

Norton Internet Security is the best anti-virus. It keeps your PC safe while on the internet and receiving eMail. Very easy to install and setup. I have been using Norton for many years and will continue to do so.
 Repeatedly caused my computer to stall March 5, 2010

I had a terrible experience with this Norton product. It repeatedly caused my computer to get hung up while doing routine tasks (e.g., downloading a photo from a blog). My computer has plenty of resources (2.8 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM, Windows XP) and I don't run complex applications or a lot of applications at the same time. Nevertheless, my computer repeatedly stalled and never recovered. I couldn't even Ctrl-Alt-Del my way out of the problem; I had to shut down the machine every time. I was able to replicate the problem several times. And when I un-installed Norton, the problem went away.

br /I used the product for less than a month and I can't get a refund. What a waste. I will not buy a Norton product again. At the suggestion of a friend, I'm now using AVG Free (a free anti-virus product available at CNET, among other sites) along with my Windows XP firewall. We'll see how that works.
