I scanned a bunch of family photos from the 1960's and 70's. The specs, dirt, scratches and other imperfections on these old prints looked terrible when shown on a large computer screen. With the healing tool in Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 fixing all these specks and scratches is easy!

Adobe PSE 8 for Mac, in my opinion, is a slight improvement over PSE 6. My main reason for this purchase was to get access to RAW enhancements. However, to date, I have not been able to open RAW on my iMac. My computer tells me it's in there, but it will not open. Adobe offers instructions of how to open RAW if it does not open when called for. So, I believe that this is a problem Adobe knew would befuddle some users. I have followed these instructions to no avail. I'm disappointed that Adobe seems willing to leave some users with this problem. Frankly, I do not feel a great loss, as PSE 8 (and PSE 6, also) allows me to make most of the fixes and enhancements that I wish to make.

Adobe Photoshop Elements software continues to improve with each version and this latest version is no exception. I'm new to Mac but I used an earlier version of this software with my previous windows based computers and I am very satisfied with what I can do with this. My photos are enhanced, not changed. I still have a few Mac problems but overall I believe I will be very pleased once I can figure out the bugs.

When I take an image from Elements 8 into the Print section and click fit to media it does just that.
br /Suppose however that I don't choose that dimension, but one close to it that would leave a little
br /wider border. So I unclick the Fit to Media and enter either the Height, or the Width dimension
br /that I choose. Elements 8 at this point leaves me high and dry as it doesn't provide the other
br /dimension automatically as was the case with Elements 6.
