I just upgraded from XP pro. Wow, what a difference 64 bit makes. I was hesitant after reading about how terrible Vista was. If there are any doubters out there, you can rest assured now that Windows 7 exceeds the mark. With Windows 7 everything is streamlined. nothing takes forever like it used to, tasks are completed in a quarter of the time. And, I can still access all the files on my Laptop running XP on my home network.
br /The install process was not as hard as I thought it might be. I just manually copied all my files (copy and pasted) to an external hard drive, popped windows 7 64 in the drive. turned my computer off, waited a moment and turned it back on. told the computer to boot from the dvd drive and whala. Windows 7 installed in about 30 minutes. Quickest install I have ever done with windows.
br /I did have to reinstall all my old programs. Make sure you have all your old product keys and serial numbers. If you do, then it's a breeze. I did have one hiccup with a program. When I went to re-register it, the program said I was not an "Administrator". If that happens, just right click on the desktop shortcut icon of the program you want to use/register and click "Run as Administrator" or something like that. That allowed me to input the product key and fully unlock my program again. Otherwise I everything is great. I am very impressed with the streamlined process of Windows 7 Pro 64. I highly recommend it.

My computer came pre-installed with windows vista. Ran slow with 4gb of memory and had so many glitches. I ordered Windows 7 Professional and after just a day of use I knew I'd love it. It runs fast (I timed windows vista startup and it took over 7 minutes- windows 7 only takes 1 and a half minutes!!) If you are depressed and irritated by Vista then this upgrade is a must... I HIGHLY recommend it.

I purchased this item for my husband for his birthday. He is a total computer geek and this was his #1 birthday request.
br /I was hesitant about purchasing this item from a third party on Amazon as I my last experience was a disaster as I learned the hard way that Amazon does not stand behind third party sellers. So I felt like this purchase would be a crap shoot and promised myself if this purchase went bad I would never buy from Amazon again!
br /So I am happy to report that this item arrived much sooner than expected and was in perfect condition and worked perfectly. Most of all my husband was thrilled to get this and could not wait to get it on his computer! He seems to be very happy with his gift.

Windows 7 Pro Product key number - KPK7D-QQQJJ-DWBQ9-4QK33-RT6XM can't activate - spend around of 60 to 70 dollars on my phone credit trying to get help from Microsoft - they just kept giving me different phone numbers, and I am calling from APO trying to get thing fixed - no result. Do not buy Win 7 - even you got it from Microsoft it will say no genuine and you will spend extra hundred dollars just to ask help.

br /As the sarcastic joke they send me an E-mail with assigned number to my case. What am I supposed to do with it? Anyway I will not be able to make phone call until next month.
