4 out of 5 stars Good game despite its shortcomings   July 2, 2010
Michael Ceciliani (New York City)
I've had this game for over a year now. I've played all 16 games on it at least once and I've unlocked about half of them to achieve a goal and see a "classic" clip featuring Bob Barker. That's one of the cool things about the game in my opinion. The "three strikes" mode lets you play continuously. Losing the showcase doesn't count as a strike, if I remember correctly. I would like to address three common complaints from other reviewers:

No Bob Barker or Drew Carey - my guess would be that they might command a high fee for their services - especially Barker (but rightfully so). Game comnpanies want to keep production costs at a minimum, they want to make profits as soon as possible. I feel that announcer Rich Fields does a credible job as the emcee. Only having Rod Roddy or Johnny Olson would have been better, and they've both passed on.

There's only 16 games - there's only so much memory that each game can hold. More games would have been nice, but it might have slowed down screen changes due to memory overload and driven up the price of the game.

You have to scroll up and down to enter each number - yeah, for a PS or a Xbox game, it's understandable, but for a PC game, there should be a way to just type in your bids.

Some of the games have been altered, which will probably upset some people more. Hole in One and It's in the Bag have only four products. Other games include:

Plinko
Cliff Hangers
Punch-a-Bunch (Punch board)
Flip Flop
3 Strikes
Shell Game
Race Game
Money Game
Range Game

The 2010 edition features all the games here plus 14 more, for a total of 30 games. But from what I understand, there's no multiplayer version on that. This version DOES have multiplayer. Overall, a good job done and a nice price of $20. You need to have the disc in your PC each time to play it.

4 out of 5 stars The Price Is Right PC Game   August 16, 2009

Fun game if you like the show. There is however 2 down falls of this game, 1 - you must have the DVD in your drive when you want to play it and 2 - the prizes you bid on repete often and its hard not to memorize the prices, which makes the game less fun.

5 out of 5 stars Choose Lover   August 13, 2009

I bougth a new computer and they were offering to let us pay to play this game. I decided to check the price on Amazon. I ordered the Price is Right and Will of Fortune through iNetvideo beacause thy offered one of the cheapest prices. I was really worried that it was going to takes two weeks after I read their shipment policy. I was really amazed when I received the games in 4 Days and they came from Canada. We have really enjoyed playing the games as a family.

Does play somewhat like the TV version, be nice if it had 3 games then spin the wheel. Price could be a bit lower......

3 out of 5 stars One Long Commercial   January 31, 2009

Although the Price is Right tries to stick to the format of the TV show, after awhile I realized it was one long product placement after another. They focus on brand name products and it gets pretty boring having to listen to the announcer drone on endlessly about each and every item offered on the show. One GIANT infomercial. They play some of the most popular games like Plinko and Hole in One, which are fun. The spin-off is authentic. But during the spin-off, whoever designer the animatons of the computer contestants needed to improve the quality. The contestants keep scratching themselves like they are infested with bugs! Very annoying. BUT, the game basics are all here and if you like watching TPIR on TV, you might like to buy this game for some not too challenging entertainment
